1.Why should I hire an interior designer?
An educated interior designer has the skills to not only provide stylish decor, but to create strategic plans for a specific space. We make sure the clients home has a consistent flow and that everything has a place. We save the client money by helping them not make costly mistakes.
2. What are your fees?
Our fee schedule for full service interior design is as follows:
$130/hr for designing, sourcing, decorating, site visits, etc.
$75/hr for any administrative work: e-mails, bids, invoicing, etc.
Our fee schedule for E-Design is as follows:
$750 for one design board of one room
$500 for additional design boards for additional rooms
3. How do you charge for your services?
ParcelHouse Design maintains industry competitive design fees, billed at our designer hourly rate. Hourly billing means you are charged an hourly fee for the time it takes to complete your project. Hourly fees include all the things necessary to bring you an amazing design: sourcing, purchasing, administrative, site visits, and install days. These fees do not include commission mark-ups on final product costs, which in most cases are lower when compared to retail pricing.
4. What are commission mark-ups?
Interior designers are sometimes given a price break with certain manufacturers and vendors. We like to offer as an incentive for working with us, to split our discount with the clients so that they aren’t paying MSRP. (Ex. We get 20% off an item, the client gets 10% off retail and the designer gets 10% mark-up)
5. Do you have a minimum?
Yes. Our minimum is 20 hours. This minimum will ensure that we are able to give you the best design we can with your budget.
6. Is E-Design different from your full service Interior Design?
Yes. If you’re unsure about which one you should do please reach out to us and we’ll help you decide which option is best. Our E-Design has it’s own set of FAQ’s so if you’re interested please contact us and we’ll be happy to send over a packet to you.
7. Am I expected to find my own contractors?
We maintain excellent relationships with some of the industry’s top professionals and are able to offer services for any interior design project. If you prefer to work with your own contractors, we are also open to collaborating with new friends as well, there just might be more time spent on site for communication reasons.
8. Do un-signed contracts expire?
Yes. There is a 3 day grace period for un-signed contracts for you to review and make the decision on whether you would like to move forward with our services. We have a 3 day expiration so that we are able to schedule out other clients who are also inquiring about our services and requesting to get on our books. If the contract is not signed within the 3 days we will assume you have decided not to use our services.
9. How often should I expect communication with you?
Weekly check-ins can be expected in order to provide status updates on your project, or to schedule appointments as needed through-out the process.
